Rhythm2Recovery Practitioner

At Creative Connections, we are proud to integrate the Rhythm2Recovery (R2R) model into our workshops. R2R is an internationally recognised framework that combines the ancient power of communal drumming with modern cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and positive psychology.

How We Use It

Unlike a standard drumming workshop, our R2R-informed sessions use rhythmic exercises as a metaphor for life's challenges. We use the drum as a tool to explore themes such as:

  • Communication & Boundaries: Learning to listen and respond through rhythm.
  • Emotional Regulation: Using tempo and volume to practice "grounding" and managing stress.
  • Social Connection: Finding a shared pulse to build trust and decrease isolation.

Why Rhythm Works

Rhythm is a "bottom-up" intervention. This means it works directly on the nervous system to soothe the brain's stress centers before moving into the "top-down" processing of talking and reflection. Whether we are working with schools, corporate teams, or mental health groups, the R2R approach ensures that every beat has a purpose.

No musical experience is necessary — the focus is entirely on the connection between the rhythm, the self, and the community.
